Experience NavRAD.
Navigating reactive attachment disorder, or NavRAD, is a biennial guided experience for primary caregivers raising children from traumatic backgrounds. The experience is built around connection, education, and practical planning for the road ahead.

Presented by Heather and Amy of RAD Advocates, Your NavRAD Guides
The NavRAD Experience was created by parents, for parents. After RAD Advocates Founder Amy VanTine went to conferences about trauma and attachment, she felt more lonely and isolated. Many discussions focused on trauma, but few reflected the day-to-day realities of raising children with reactive attachment disorder (RAD). That experience became the inspiration for NavRAD.

Connection with other RAD parents in a safe and accepting space
Maybe you're just learning about the term reactive attachment disorder. Or maybe you've desperately tried to help professionals understand it for years. Either way, you'll find your people at NavRAD. Small-group seating helps connect caregivers with others facing similar experiences and challenges. Chat, laugh, or cry, exchange numbers, whatever feels right to you. However you do it, you'll be accepted and surrounded by people who get it.
-
Sincere understanding from experts in reactive attachment disorder
Really. We know many of you have struggled to find professionals with specialized experience in the disorder. As RAD parents ourselves, we vet and select people we trust to give you guidance. The focus remains on learning, discussion, and meaningful connection throughout the event. Just people who really do understand what you're going through and want to help.
-
Guidance to create a personal plan forward for your family
Attendance is intentionally limited so participants can receive more individualized guidance throughout the experience. You'll get practical resources, including the "Reactive Attachment Disorder Parenting Roadmap" workbook along with exercises designed to support planning beyond the event. Leave with a path specific to your family.

Common Questions
- Is NavRAD offered virtually?
- NavRAD is not offered virtually. The experience is built around in-person connection, a sense of safety away from home, and guided planning in a space where you can be fully present.
- Will childcare be available?
- We do not offer childcare at NavRAD. This experience is designed to give you space to feel safe, connected, and present — and that requires coming without your children.
- Are scholarships available?
- We offer scholarship funding when it is available, funded entirely by donations. We ask that families request a scholarship only if truly necessary.
